Garage floor coatings are built for residential slabs exposed to vehicle traffic, hot tires, dropped tools, and the occasional oil leak. A garage system usually means a base coat, a decorative broadcast of flake or quartz, and a protective topcoat, and the topcoat is often a different chemistry from the base. Start here if you want a floor you can sweep instead of scrub.
For warehouses, shops, retail floors, service bays, and production areas where the floor has to survive equipment loads, cleaning chemicals, and a cleaning schedule. Specification matters more here than appearance: the build thickness, aggregate, and topcoat get selected against your actual use and your downtime window.
For interior spaces where the floor is meant to be looked at. Metallic pigment moves through the resin as it cures, so the finished pattern varies from pour to pour. It is a decorative system, and it belongs in showrooms, offices, living areas, and garages where appearance leads the decision rather than abrasion resistance.
Epoxy is one resinous flooring chemistry. Polyaspartic is a different one. Most complete floor systems use more than one, which is why “epoxy garage floor” is often shorthand for a build where the base is epoxy and the wear layer is not.
